After 25 years of hard use, I decided it was time to replace my Makita Belt Sander. (It is still going strong, but I have broken off a number of the pieces and run over the cord a dozen times.) The new Makita 4″ x 24″ sander is almost exactly like my old one.
Most of my tools are Dewalt, but I have been so please with my Makita sander, I chose to go with another one. There are areas of the floor that needed some major sanding and I didn’t want to rent a floor sander so tackled the project with this sander. With coarse sand paper, it can really grind through the wood.
After a few months of heavy usage, I dropped a board on the sander and broke off the saw dust collection bag. The plastic piece between the bag and the sander snapped in two. I was happy to see I could order the part through Amazon. I probably could have replaced all the parts I’ve broken on my old sander!
