Self Feeding Bit

I am learning as I remodel.  I have always used a spade bit to drill holes for wiring and plumbing.  When I visited a construction site, I noticed the electrician using a self-feeding bet.  So, I bought one.  Wow, I didn’t know what I was missing.  They cut through wood like butter and pull themselves through the wood.  (Hmm… maybe that is why they call them self feeding.)

I now have self-feeding bits of all different sizes and lengths.  You won’t go back to a spade bit after using one.
