I have a number of favorite tools, but recently this became my “go to” tool of choice. A few years ago, I had purchased a digital tape measure. I have used it dozens of times but never found it invaluable. I could always just use a regular tape measure. UNTIL, I started putting crown molding around the top of my rooms. I used the digital...
Almost every home handyman I know has a “zip” saw or reciprocating saw. This blade turns the saw into a pruning saw. These wicked looking blades make quick work of limbs and sturdy bushes.
I seldom use phillips bits anymore. Torx bits are the only way to go. They don’t strip out when you try to put them in. Going into hard wood, you will snap off the screw before you strip out the head.
I wished I knew about this tool YEARS ago. I break a few sprinkler heads off each year. Many of the times, the pvc is broken off right at a tee. So, you have to dig up a few feet each direction to replace the tee. In my rocky ground this is awful. If I had known about this device, all I would have had...
If you plan to put up drywall… BUY THESE TWO TOOLS. You will thank me. I have always put up sheetrock with a cordless screwdriver. It seemed to work pretty well but since I had a ton of sheetrock to put up, I bought the DeWalt cordless drywall screwdriver and collated screw accessory. It took only one sheet of drywall to come to the realization...
If you use a cordless drill… you need a drill holster. If you are like me, you lay your cordless drill on the ladder… only to have it fall to the floor when you NEED IT. A few months ago, I purchased the Dewalt drill holster and it has been awesome. I only strap it on when I’m using the cordless drill on a ladder....
It seems like my cordless drill is just out of reach when I need it. Usually, I’m holding something up so I can’t grab it easily. This holster keeps your cordless drill handy. My only issue is the weight of the drill in the holster keeps pulling my pants down.
This hook-shaped blade is pretty nifty. It works in a similar way as the cordless drywall cutout tool. The point pokes a hole in the drywall and you hook the blade in. It does a nice job to clean up some of the areas around a box or in places you can’t get the cutout tool.
I paid to have someone else tape and texture my drywall. I have tried it myself and I wanted a professional job. The guys who did the taping asked who did the drywall. They said it was one of the nicer jobs they had seen. I was proud of it. There are two reasons it turned out so well. The first was THIS TOOL. It...
